Any great ideas for Pep Rally & Homecoming? What were some of the stuff your high school did?

My school is pretty small (500 people) and we all have NO school spirit. Everybody already thinks that pep rallys are LAME and just sit on the bleachers and watch. What is something that we can do to get everybody pumped up, and have everybody have fun and involved? what does your high school do at pep rallys and homecoming?!
