What do i need to do to get rid of the check engine light?

I was driving from Fresno to San Francisco and my low oil light came up i was in a hurry so i dumbly decided to not stop and buy some oil until i got to SF so i kept going right when i arrived to SF the Check Engine light came up now i know that its bad to drive a car with low oil but i didnt drive it for that long with low oil and how much would it be to fix or is a simple fix? These cars tend to burn oil alot the car i have is a 2001 Trans Am so i know that its common for ls1 engine to burn oil.
