Driving my husbands car?

i have had 1 major car accident, and 1 minor. wrecked a front wheel drive on the ice and spun my awd into a field on a snow drift. i drove my husbands gti all last summer and now he doesn't want me to drive it. is it wrong that he let me drive it before but will not let me drive it now? and i have to make it a point that i have never had a speeding ticket either (even with the fast car)
