When was the Three Gorges Dam built .???

it is to harness tidal power. tidal power is harnessed by the tides powering turbines in a barrage (dam) to create electricity. It is like a windmill underwater. It can only be placed in a few places worldwide to be beneficial, and the Three Gorges Dam is perfect. And yes, it wont be operational until 2011 or maybe later because it might cause flooding, its REALLY expensive, and takes a while to build
