Is organization a sign of intelligence?

So today my mother (upon inspection of my "messy" room) told me that organizational skills are a sign of intelligence. She basically just told me I am a dumb because I am not subject to obsessive impulses of perfection where everything must be in a perfect order or else I go insane. She is a ridiculous neat freak and busy body and overall is incredibly particular about the way things "need" to be. I still consider myself intelligent though. She is basically telling me that I don't hold an ounce of intelligence simply because I am not like her in terms or organization. It's not even that things get out of control in my room to the point that I can't find things, so I see no reason to obsess over it; i simply am apathetic about things as unimportant as alphabetizing my room or clothing. I suppose my real question would be am I still intelligent even though I don't care about organization to the point that I am obsessive?
